Innovatix was founded on one core principle: to meet the ever-evolving needs of our members. As a group purchasing organization (GPO), we ensure that our members have the right products and services ― at the right price. To keep pace with our members and their markets, Innovatix offers more than 3,300 contracts from over 1,400 industry-leading suppliers. But Innovatix also provides solutions to support member operational, technological, and regulatory challenges.

Owned and powered by Premier, Innovatix has been serving continuum of care providers – including pharmacies, infusion providers, senior living and long-term care facilities, physicians, surgery centers, and more – since 1993. As our name suggests, we are always innovating, extending the deep discounts and member-focused service model we created for the markets we originally served to over 300,000 providers representing the entire continuum of care.

Membership with Innovatix requires no membership fees or mandatory purchasing minimums. Innovatix members have the flexibility to order as much or as little as they need, enjoying bulk-purchase savings with each purchase.

Timeline of Innovation

Throughout our journey, Innovatix has consistently embraced innovation. With roots deeply embedded in healthcare, particularly in pharmacy services, we initially established ourselves as a leading group purchasing organization catering primarily to pharmacies. Over time, our reach expanded to include independent physician practices and long-term care providers. Today, as part of Premier, we have broadened our horizons, extending Innovatix services to encompass a wider spectrum of healthcare providers.

1993
Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) Alternate Care Purchasing Corporation is formed.
1998
GNYHA Alternate Care Purchasing Corporation becomes Innovatix.
2002
Ownership of Innovatix becomes 50 percent GNYHA Ventures and 50 percent Premier.
2008
Premier PSAO™ is launched to help long-term care (LTC), infusion and specialty pharmacies navigate the newly introduced Medicare Part D drug benefit.
2015
Introduction of Scriptmax™, a pharmacy claims analytics service that empowers pharmacies with actionable claims review data during every step of adjudication.
2016
Premier assumes full ownership of Innovatix and Essensa.

2021
Innovatix is fully integrated into Premier’s Continuum of Care business unit and becomes the member-facing brand for Premier’s direct CoC GPO members.
2023
Launch of Premier SmartPO® – a digital supply chain procurement and inventory management technology designed specifically for continuum of care (CoC) providers.
